Magellan's Cross

The Magellan's Cross is the center of attraction, particularly for Christian devotees, in the island of Cebu. This marked the arrival of Ferdinand Magellan in the Philippines, who, with the introduction of Christianity in the area, planted a cross signifying his aim to propagate the said faith in central Philippines.

The 486-year-old cross is now housed inside a small chapel or kiosk located across the Cebu City Hall along the Magallanes Street, beside the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño.
